Piano tuning - how I like it! I seriously enjoy tuning piano's, both uprights and grand piano's. Never under estimate what difference tuning your instrument can do.
It greatly enhances the overall soundscape of your piano;

Has your upright or grand piano not been tuned for more than a year?Then several tuning turns are sometimes necessary to tune your instrument to the correct pitch. Strings might also break; that is very dependent on the condition and age of the instrument. Repair costs thereof are not included in the regular tuning costs.

How often does my piano need to be tuned?
You may wonder how often you should have your upright or grand piano tuned.
I can easily tune my own piano at home 4 times a year. It's a bit of a job, but with that I am assured of a piano that sounds fantastic for most of the year.
I recommend having your upright or grand piano tuned at least twice a year.
In this way, the greatest fluctuations in the weather conditions are absorbed and your piano or grand piano is in an acceptable condition for much of the time.
If you have your upright or grand piano tuned 4 times a year, you are assured of an instrument in top condition all year round. It will greatly enhance your gaming pleasure.
This arrangement is also the most advantageous per tuning session!
The importance of regular tuning
A piano or grand piano detunes mainly due to fluctuations in humidity, caused by winter drought or summer humidity. Your piano will detune from playing a lot, especially when played with more volume and power. And don't forget enthusiastic children's hands...
Did you know that you can 'detune' with your instrument? You get used to the detuning, so you often don't realize how much your instrument is out of tune.
Only when your piano or grand piano has been tuned by me again do you realize how out of tune your piano really sounded.
Your playing pleasure will increase enormously!
That is why I recommend that you have your piano or grand piano tuned at least twice a year.
Again and again I hear from my clients that after tuning they have started playing the piano much more often — even children! Isn't that a good reason for a tuning service?!
Pianotuning - a serious craft
Tuning a piano is a serious craft that can easily take a professional two hours.
If you think it's a bit expensive, consider the following:
Your playing pleasure is (often unconsciously) greatly increased by playing a well-tuned instrument.
You will sit at the piano more often and enjoy playing the piano.
If the piano is out of tune, you won't always notice it immediately, but it will subconsciously affect your playing pleasure. If you have your piano or grand piano tuned at least twice a year, your instrument will be in the best possible condition almost all year round.
About me
In addition to being a piano tuner, I am also the founder, business manager and jazz pianist of the Jazz Centrale. Through many hundreds of live performances over the years, I have developed a very good hearing, which comes in handy when tuning the piano.
